The 5 Hour Rule: Dedicate Time to Learning

Here we are at our 20th newsletter!

We’ve doubled from roughly 4,000 readers to now over 10,000 readers, so that’s pretty insane. Thank you for continually supporting and reading this small, humble newsletter.

Speaking of reading, the majority of successful individuals dedicate time out of their very busy schedule to read and learn:

  • Bill Gates continues to read a book a week and takes a 2 week reading vacation every year
  • Warren Buffett claims to invest 80% of his time reading and thinking
  • Obama read an hour a day while in office

I used to think money was the asset to have other than time but I’ve realized knowledge is far more valuable.

Because knowledge applied, comes money anyway. Knowledge pays the best interest.

It also compounds over time unlike most assets that lose value.

Learning digital marketing has proven to be so useful over the last 5+ years. I built an eCommerce business, I’ve taught others digital marketing and monetized the knowledge. It led to more opportunities and collaborations.

It’s incredible what you can achieve by spending 5 hours a week sitting down, reading and learning.

We often believe we can’t afford the time it takes, but the opposite is true: None of us can afford not to learn.

Learning is no longer a luxury; it’s a necessity.

How I Clean & Decorate My Home Office

The previous video on how I clean and tidy my home office got 200,000+ views in a few months. So naturally it seems like a good idea to share an updated video.

It’s probably one of my last videos in this space too – yep! I’ve now outgrown this space (by a long margin) and I’ve just signed a contract for a new dedicated office AND studio space!

I cannot wait to show you the space and the transformation with a couple renovations coming up first. I’ll share all the DIY updates and progress of the new desk setup, office setup and studio setup over on Instagram…it’s going to be a lonnnng journey.

This time I share other gadgets and tips I didn’t share in the first video on how I manage to keep my space consistently neat and tidy.

A big new addition is an advanced robot vacuum – the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra.

It’s a newly released, next-gen robot cleaner that’s able to automatically vacuum, mop, empties its trash, refill its water tank, wash its own mop AND holds up to 7 weeks of dust. It’s seriously impressive.

It saves me at least an hour vacuuming the office every month. That’s a big win in itself. You can check it out here.

I Got My Dad a Rolex!

Pretty proud of this, not gonna lie.

I have my dad to thank for my slight watch obsession — he always wore his trusty Seiko 5 Sports he got in his 20s and his appreciation for watches rubbed off on me.

He’s one of the hardest workers I know (other than my mum!). But he’s never thought to spoil himself. It’s always “family first” so he never spent a dime on himself. Or watches for that matter.

So that’s why my second Rolex purchase is extra special – because it’s for him, all he’s done for me and I’m extremely grateful to be in a position to give back to him.

The Smartphone That Changes Color

Here’s my review of the vivo V23 5G, a pretty stellar mid-ranger phone with 2 unique stand out features: the changing-color back panel and the 64MP triple-camera setup. Pretty neat features for a sub $500 phone.

iPad Apps I Love

Here are the apps I use on a daily basis with the new iPad Air 5 as part of my full desk setup alongside my Mac.

A Question To You

So I want to take the chance to ask you what you want to see more of from me on the YouTube channel and on this newsletter?

I know some of you religiously watch my marketing and business tutorials only and others stick around for the tech reviews and desk setups.
I’d love if you could hit reply and let me know what you want to see more of!

Understanding the AI Hype Let’s talk AI for a moment. Because I feel like it’s so grossly misunderstood and its hype is confusing. If you used Google Translate, Apple Siri or even a robot vacuum cleaner, these are all elements of AI that we know and love. So in fact, you and I have been using AI for a while! It’s not like AI has suddently arrived is becoming the Singularity (a hypothetical future where technological growth becomes uncontrollable). But the trend a decade ago was to hide the AI...

Today’s Newsletter Partnered With ClearVPN 2 Living The Best Life I’ve been thinking about how I want to live life and best use my time. The easiest way to break down life is into categories: Relationships Work & Finances Health Learning Mental Wellbeing Over the last half year, I’ve been consumed by work – putting in countless hours, weekends and not drawing a line. I’ve been over indexing on work. Recently I’ve taken time to balance the life categories, where I’d choose to work late nights...
